Web support of Dell India

Dell India's web support includes the following two ways.

  • Web support directly from Dell India's website
  • Social media support

Web support directly from Dell India's website

Dell India's support page includes clearly visible search bar where you have to enter a service tag, model number, serial number, service request, or keywords related to your machine. It then show you the list of articles, your warranty detail, specifications, device's manual, several article on diagnosis, and many more.

So, for example, if you're facing a problem of volume change, then you can search "How to change the volume?" and hit enter. As a result, Dell will show you the list of article related to the volume troubleshooting and you can select the most relevant one from the list.

However, there's a chance that you won't find a solution of your problem. For that, Dell has its own app - Dell SupportAsistant App.

You can do following things by installing that app.

  • Install a latest drivers
  • Troubleshoot your laptop's problems
  • Contact directly to the Dell's representative

There're many problems for which you need to contact directly Dell India's customer service representative.

So, the question is, How to contact the Dell India's Customer Service Representative?

Else, you can follow the steps below.

  1. Open the Dell SupportAssistant app.
  2. Hit Get Support tab.
  3. Select the form of communication: Phone, Live chart, or Email.
  4. Press the drop down button.
  5. Collect the main contact number.

So, on the technical support page, Dell will identify your laptop automatically. If it fails, you've to manually enter the "Service Tag" number to the search bar. And, then you can select the method of contact or can read the support articles.

I'm gonna share the experience of Rami Tabari of LaptopMag with Dell Customer Service.

Try-1: In the live chart, see has asked the question - "How do I connect my phone to my laptop?"

So, it took almost 21 minutes to get it done. Rami has told that the representative has taken the remote control of her laptop to get the app - Dell Mobile Connect - installed. She added that Dell has put the transparency first. Whenever the Dell's representative tried to see the different screen of her laptop remotely, she has been asked to whether she is agree to share or not?. By this way, Dell has let her know what the representative is doing with her machine. Before the remote connect, Dell has also agreed several terms which clearly indicated the privacy.

Overall Experience: Great

The following are social media accounts of Dell India's customer support.

Here, I'm gonna share Ms. Tabari's experience with Dell on Twitter. She directly asked the following question.

"How do I download the new Microsoft Edge browser?"

So, she first faced the bot which I asked for the service tag, then the representative attended her almost after a 13 minutes with answer of the question different than Rami has asked.

After another 13 minutes, the representative again attended her with a right solution - a proper link to download the latest Microsoft Edge browser.

And, she got a similar bittersweet experience with a Facebook account.

Phone support

If none work, you last prefer to call directly. That's what Rami has did.

First, go in the detail, the following are the contact numbers of Dell India's customer support.

  • Local: 080-2510-7901 (Mon to Fri 9AM - 6PM)
  • Toll Free: 1800-425-0088 (Mon to Fri 9AM - 6PM)

Call 01: She has asked the question, "How do I download the new Microsoft Edge browser?"

She got answer from Dell India's representative, Shailesh, that there's no new browser. There would be only updates coming through. This call took almost 7 minutes. It's to note before the call ends, Shailesh was convinced that she has already installed a new browser.

Call 02: She has asked a question, "How do I give my speakers more bass?".

The call has lasted for around 31 minutes. During the call, she has to face the virtual assistance initially because it require a service tag to know the details of the hardware. Then, she was attended by an agent who has asked for the Remote access which took almost 15 seconds - quite long. After another 16 minutes, she finally got the right solution.

Last Call: She has asked a question, "How do I connect my phone to my laptop?".

Luckily, she got the right answer within just 2 and a half minutes, but because of some instructions and other set up, the conversation ended in almost 15 minutes. Later, her call was transferred to the manager of Dell India's Customer service who asked for her experience. Ms. Tabari has really liked the way manager asked to her.

So, now you know that with any laptop, you need to contact for the live support first. If not satisfied, the final way remains is to contact through the phone directly. Remember that they will first ask for the SERVICE TAG to get the proper information about hardware, and most importantly, the warranty.
